What is Medication Management?

Journey Clinical offers comprehensive psychiatric medication management as a stand-alone mental health treatment, or in addition to Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP).

Our team will work with you to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your mental health needs. After assessing your goals and medical history, your provider can prescribe medications that are right for you. Your plan will evolve as we monitor your progress, always adjusting as needed to help you achieve the best possible outcomes.

Get Matched with a Therapist or Partner with Us Alone

If you are already working with a Journey Clinical Member Therapist, your Provider will work closely with them to create a seamless and supportive care experience. We believe this collaborative approach leads to the best mental health outcomes for our patients.

While a Journey Clinical therapist isn’t required for Medication Management, we're happy to connect you with one of our expert therapists to support your holistic mental health needs.

Step 1: Access the Patient Portal

If you were referred by a Journey Clinical therapist, you should have received a welcome email to log into your patient portal. If you haven't received an email yet, ask your therapist to submit an internal referral to Journey Clinical.

If you are not already working with a Journey Clinical therapist, click the button below to get started and create your patient account. After creating your account, you should receive the welcome email to log in.

Step 2: Book Your Medical Intake

Within the patient portal, click the 'Get Started' or 'Continue' button to schedule your medical consultation. You will then have a comprehensive intake appointment with your provider to assess your needs and develop a personalized treatment plan.

Step 3: Receive Ongoing Support

Following your intake, you'll have regular monthly follow-up appointments to monitor progress and adjust medications as necessary.

What Types of Medications Can Be Prescribed?

In addition to ketamine, our Medical Team specializes in prescribing a wide range of psychiatric medications, tailored to support your holistic mental health care. Our Medical Team will assess potential medication interactions and create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs. These medications may include, but are not limited to:

• Antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs, TCAs, MAOIs, atypical antidepressants)

• Anxiolytics

• Mood stabilizers

• Antipsychotics

• Stimulants

• Benzodiazepines

• Hypnotics

How Does Medication Management Work with KAP?

If you are undergoing KAP, medication management is included at no extra cost. Medication management can be helpful at different stages of your treatment:

• Before KAP: To help us better understand your medical and psychiatric history.

• During KAP: To monitor any adjustments needed for your medications, ensuring your safety and the effectiveness of your treatment.

• After KAP: To adjust your medications as needed after completing 6-8 KAP sessions.

A dosing session is a 2–3-hour appointment where you meet with your therapist—either in person or remotely—and self-administer sublingual ketamine lozenges. After taking the medicine, you lie down in a calm, comfortable space to experience an inward journey, while the primary effects last about 45 minutes. Your therapist remains present throughout to offer support and hold space. Read more.
